Norway Rats

Norway Rats

Norway Rats – Harborage (Indoors)

Did you know Norway rats have poor vision and are nearly color blind? They react to shapes and movements rather than identifying objects by sight. Their eyes are naturally adapted to dim light.

Where can an active infestation be found?

Norway rat nests can be commonly found:

  1.  Inside walls
  2.  In spaces between floor and ceilings
  3. Underneath equipment
  4. Between and under pallets,
  5. In crawl spaces
  6. Storage rooms
  7. Any other cluttered area that is unoccupied

What you can do to prevent an infestation:

  1. Make it impossible for rats to enter your structure (rat-proofing).
  2. Reduce the clutter in rarely used rooms such as storage rooms, equipment rooms, basements.
  3. Organize storage areas.
  4. Contact Struckum for a comprehensive rodent control program
